DMCA policy

Firmware Hero respects copyright and follows the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If something here infringes your copyright, tell us and we'll take it down.
What's on Firmware Hero
We never host firmware or other project files. Project pages link to each project's own site or repository, and we keep linking to projects that their authors publish. We don't link to pirated firmware, license keys or paid software shared without permission, and we remove such links when we find or are told about them.
What we do host is text and images: device and project descriptions, device photos with their credit and license, and what people post. A notice can cover any of these, or a link.
Sending a notice
Email our designated agent at legal@ururu.store, with “DMCA notice” in the subject, or write to them at the address below. Include:
- the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- the page on Firmware Hero and the content or link on it, specifically enough for us to find it;
- your name, postal address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you're the owner or authorised to act for them;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We aim to act on a complete notice within three business days: we remove or disable the content, tell the person who added it if we know who that is, and log the removal.

Counter-notices
If you added something we removed and believe it was a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address with:
- what was removed and where it was;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and phone number;
- your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the US, any district where we may be found), and that you'll accept service from the person who sent the notice;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We forward it to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they've gone to court, we may put the content back.
Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly add infringing content or links. Under the terms of service, linking to pirated firmware or keys can get an account closed the first time.
Projects themselves
A complaint about a project's own code or files belongs with the site that hosts them, such as GitHub. If that host takes a project down, tell us and we'll update or remove its page.
False notices
Knowingly misrepresenting that something infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can make you liable for damages under the DMCA.
