What's new
This release bundles everything prepared for 1.6.5 together with the latest community fixes.
- Ads & proxy improvements
- Ad break detection now works even when Twitch does not show the black countdown bar.
- Support for up to 5 configurable proxy servers, with automatic fallback to the next server when one of them fails.
- Twitch's query string (access token / signature) is now preserved when rewriting the HLS URL, so proxied requests stay authenticated.
- Config UI: proxy server fields are hidden when the proxy is disabled, moved to the bottom and made scrollable.
- Playback fixes
- Sub-only VODs and subscriber-restricted live streams now play on lg.tv.twitch.tv ("Pulsar" hls.js player). The fix patches
XMLHttpRequeston the main thread, alongside the existing Amazon IVS worker patch. Thanks @Lurdo-4! - The yellow remote button now toggles Twitch's own chat (collapse/expand) instead of merely hiding it.
- webOS reliability
- Fix: the screensaver (fireworks) no longer interrupts playback on webOS 4.x. Timestamp-only screensaver requests are recognized and vetoed only while a video is playing in the foreground. Thanks @jwrpalmer99!
- Added automated regression tests for the screensaver responder (
npm test).
