Public installer · Beta installer · Emulator

The installed line is 0.9.9-par: 0.9.9's stable core with the new sequencer (seq2), the song generator rebuilt (gen), two new engines (snd) and 0.9.18's live features ported over (par). main also holds the 0.9.18 development line, which parts of the text below describe; features marked "in the 0.9.1x line" that par has not taken yet are not in the installer's version. If a version gives you trouble, 0.9.9-gen2 in the list of earlier versions is the one to go back to.

From the project's README ("par14 hardware installation withdrawn — 2026-10-28"):

A tester reported an FM-1 that would not boot after installing par14. The exact revision, symptoms and cause are not yet confirmed. Do not install par14 on hardware. All par14 packages have been removed from the generated installers, including direct firmware download files. Automated tests and a successful package build did not establish hardware safety.

ADD is the primary edition going forward: public ADDITIVE par10 stays the default; the beta installer offers ADDITIVE par10d-beta2. Public SAMPLE par13b remains available unchanged as the alternative. SAMPLE development is paused. The SAMPLE browser emulator stays pinned separately through web/EMULATOR; this does not make par14 available for installation on an FM-1. SHIFT/CHORD below are archived descriptions of the withdrawn SAMPLE experiment, not current hardware install recommendations.

The incident investigation is tracked in the par14 audit. Do not erase projects or attempt blind reflashing to diagnose a non-booting device; first record its screen and USB enumeration so the recovery path can be chosen for its actual state.
